New York Knicks young guard Frank Ntilikina is struggling of late, and there have been some rumblings that the team isn't all that high on him. Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic reported that the Minnesota Timberwolves have shown interest in the French point guard project, but KSTP's Darren Wolfson is refuting the report that the Timberwolves are interested in Ntilikina:

How much interest, if any, Minnesota has in Frank Ntilikina is still unclear, but there's no doubt that teams are keeping an eye on the 20-year-old. The young point guard has been seeing fewer and fewer minutes in David Fizdale's point guard rotation for the time being. Emmanuel Mudiay and Trey Burke are getting the lion's share of the minutes at the point. Ntilikina has mostly moved to the wing, for now, a position he's physically and defensively capable of playing.

With the swirling rumors regarding Ntilikina, it's important for fans to take a step back and remember that the Frenchman is still one of the youngest players in the NBA. He was always a project, and the expectation that he would be a complete player at this point in his career was speculative at best.

He still has tons of time to develop and grow into an excellent player. He's already shown potential as an elite defender, but he must make major strides on the offensive end. Don't expect the Knicks to give up on a player with the potential of Frank Ntilikina, even if it means watching him suffer through some bad offensive performances.
