Heading into the 2017-18 NBA season, the Minnesota Timberwolves have made drastic roster changes in hopes of ending their 13-year playoff drought. With two rising stars in Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, they traded for Jimmy Butler while signing Jeff Teague, Taj Gibson, and Jamal Crawford.

As the Timberwolves continue to look for more veterans, they have reportedly ‘poked around' about acquiring Jared Dudley from the Phoenix Suns according to Darren Wolfson of 5 Eyewitness News:

In June, Dudley underwent a left toe ligament and bone procedure and was expected to miss three-to-four months. If the 32-year-old is able to make a full recovery, Zach Lowe of ESPN predicts the Timberwolves will offer Cole Aldrich and a second round pick for him.

In head coach Tom Thibodeau's second season with the team, there is a sense of urgency to not only make the playoffs, but make a deep run. While all teams are expected to be chasing the defending champion Golden State Warriors, the Timberwolves have established a highly competitive roster.

However, the challenge will be how quickly they are able to come together and if they are able to acquire more veterans during the course of the new season.
