The Houston Rockets have offered four future first-round draft picks to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for small forward Jimmy Butler, but that package doesn't include shooting guard Eric Gordon, who'd be mandatory for Minnesota in any proposed deal, according to Malika Andrews of ESPN.

Timberwolves head coach/president Tom Thibodeau is looking for a grand return for Jimmy Butler, who is a four-time All-Star and one of the best two-way players in the league. Thibodeau has always been against rebuilding and wants to acquire players who will help the Timberwolves compete for a playoff spot in the rugged Western Conference.

Minnesota could use a player like Eric Gordon, who can stretch the floor and hit 3-pointers at a high clip. The Timberwolves were last in the NBA last season in made 3-pointers. For his career, Gordon has shot 37.5 percent from beyond the arc and scored 16.7 points per game.

The Timberwolves need to trade Jimmy Butler as soon as possible. This saga has dragged on for too long, and it's starting to affect the confidence of Karl-Anthony Towns, who has not looked like himself early in the season.

Butler and Towns are believed to have a rocky relationship behind the scenes and it's showing on the court. The Timberwolves got blown out by the Milwaukee Bucks at home Friday night, losing by a final score of 125-95. The team has no chemistry on the floor and looked like a broken group of players on the bench.
