Anthony Tolliver's effort has never been in question. The Minnesota Timberwolves forward has been on the fringes of playing rotations for years, keeping his once unlikely NBA career alive and well mostly through long-range shooting and commitment to preparation.

Energy and engagement is key to both of those attributes, obviously, and the 11-year veteran has it in spades as he made abundantly clear on this towering block of Giannis Antetokounmpo on Saturday night.

Wow.

Might this be one of the most shocking plays of the 2018-19 season? Anthony Tolliver is never afraid to make second and third efforts on a single possession, and he is occasionally prone to high-impact defensive plays as a result despite his lackluster athleticism. He came into Saturday's action with just 13 total blocks, and it's safe to say none of them came on a dunk attempt — let alone one by a freak of nature like Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Tolliver has played a bigger role for Minnesota since Robert Covington went down with a bruised right knee on December. Splitting time at both forward spots, though best suited at the 4, the 33-year-old is averaging 4.5 points and 2.5 rebounds while shooting an even 40.0 percent from beyond the arc over the Wolves' last 21 games, appearing in 19 of them.
