Minnesota Timberwolves guard Derrick Rose has been touring China over the past few days as part of a promotion for his latest signature shoe, the D Rose 9 from Adidas.

Rose, now 29 years of age, has loads of loyal followers in China. In fact, Chinese fans created a special tribute video in his honor last year, which left him in tears. As a small sign of appreciation, the former No. 1 overall pick decided to pay it forward, as they say, on Monday.

With a new pair of his signature shoes tucked under his left arm, Rose made his way to one unsuspecting Chinese superfan's home. When the fan cracked his front door to see that it was Rose knocking, he immediately began to cry out in excitement.

Though he has dealt with a lot of adversity, Rose is known as a superstar in China. In fact, his jersey sales there were second only to Kobe Bryant just two years ago, according to a report from Sports Illustrated.

Rose struggled with more injuries last season, and he was traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Utah Jazz midseason before getting immediately waived. He reunited with Tom Thibodeau in Minnesota, though, and became a member of the rotation at the end of the season. He appeared in all five Timberwolves playoff games and scored 14.2 points per game on 50.9 percent shooting, earning him a new contract with the team this summer.
