During the offseason, the Minnesota Timberwolves brought in Jimmy Butler to their fold to give them additional firepower in their lineup, as well as a veteran locker room leader who can help their young players to become even better. During their game on Saturday versus the Phoenix Suns, he showed just that, but in a very hilarious way.

After stealing the ball, fourth-year guard Tyus Jones went all the way to their end of the court and converted on an uncontested layup. However, the Timberwolves star may have found it too boring, and wasn’t satisfied with his move, as Butler was seen telling Jones that he should’ve done a between-the-legs slam instead.

Tyus Jones played well on the night, finishing in double-figures scoring with 10 points, to go along with an assist and three steals. However, his efforts were not enough to help his team get the victory, as they lost, 108-106. The Wolves saw their record drop to 17-13 for the season, but if there’s any good news for them, they are still currently in fourth place in the Western Conference.

Jimmy Butler may have been joking with what he asked, but it also goes to show what kind of a leader he is. He proved that he will find a way to ask more from his teammates, as he knows they are capable of delivering it. Jones is not known to be a dunker, yet he may be motivated to still add more moves to finish at the basket stronger, which may come in handy for him in the future, even if it’s not the showtime dunk his veteran teammate was asking from him.
