Tiny Tina's Wonderlands‘ character creator will let fans play as their own customized characters for the first time in the Borderlands franchise.

Who thought that it'd take a Borderlands spin-off before we get to self-insert ourselves in the games? That's exactly what's happening in Gearbox Software's next title, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. Essentially a spin-off spinning off simply because of the success of a single DLC campaign, Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep for Borderlands 2Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will see the titular character once again DM-ing for a party of adventurers. And just like your usual tabletop RPG games, you get to create and customize your own character for this adventure.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands‘ character creator will let you set your race, voice, personality, appearance, and even lets you design a banner and wear different cosmetics. The game still seems to feature the same old class system present in the previous Borderlands games, but you can still choose how to specialize your skills based on which abilities you choose to upgrade as you level up.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will double down on its tabletop RPG theme, even featuring a tabletop overworld with miniature figurines standing in for the players' characters. It's a fresh change of pace from the fatigued Borderlands franchise, whose serviceable Borderlands 3 made fans tune out a bit out of the series. This one will surely bring back lapsed fans to the fold once again, as the theme and subject alone make up for Borderlands 3‘s humorless script already.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will be coming out during Q1 next year on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC.
