From the comparisons you never saw coming department, apparently people have been comparing Tennessee Titans rookie cornerback Adoree Jackson to veteran Adam “Don't call me ” Pacman Jones for some time.

Keynodo Hudson, then a defensive administration assistant at USC, was the first to make the connection between Adoree Jackson and Pacman Jones.

“He used to call me ‘Little Pacman,’” Jackson said, via US Today. “After that, it pretty much stuck.”

It is certainly worth noting — something we have to, given Pacman Jones' old off-the-field issues — that this is ONLY in terms of on the field play.

There's another connection point here. The Titans were the team that selected Pacman Jones back when people expected him to be a shutdown corner roughly a dozen years ago. While most people think of him in terms of not being that, as well as his conduct, Jones has managed to do some growing up and have a better than just OK NFL career.

“He's grown a lot since then,” longtime Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said on a conference call with reporters this week. “I was very close with (former Titans coach) Jeff (Fisher) and we had a lot of talks. Jeff talked to me about him a bunch. I think he's grown up a lot since those times.”

Adoree Jackson doesn't seem put off by the comparisons, either. Going as far to explain the similarities.

“Same size, electrifying with the ball in the hand, plays DB, return man, so that’s how I’ve always viewed it and seen myself, just being a scrappy guy,” Jackson said. “He’s got long hair. I’ve got long hair. He’s dark-skinned. I’m dark-skinned. That’s how I just seen myself as growing up, when I switched to the cornerback position.”

Jackson is having a nice rookie season and excelling in the punt return game. While most Titans fans would likely prefer he “be more” than what Jones has been, don't undersell how solid a career Pacman has had.
