The Tennessee Titans have, once again, not seen wide receiver A.J. Brown in training camp due to an injury, according to the Tennessean‘s Erik Bacharach.

The former Ole Miss product had an undisclosed injury on July 26th and the severity of it is unknown at the time. However, he donned a left leg sleeve yesterday, according to TitansWire's Crissy Floyd. He joins fellow Titan Derrick Henry as offensive skill-position players to skip a third straight training camp practice.

The hope for the Titans is that Brown gets on the field soon, as he's a vital piece to their offense. Widely considered as a first-round talent, the Titans lucked into selecting him with the No. 51 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Brown was often phrased as the most complete receiver heading into the draft, particularly as a big slot. At six-foot and 226 pounds, his frame is solid. As for his athleticism, he recorded a 4.49 second 40-yard-dash and 36.5-inch vertical at the combine.

At Ole Miss, playing alongside now-NFL receivers D.K. Metcalf and Demarkus Lodge, Brown was a star. He tallied 1,320 yards and six touchdowns in 2018 on 85 receptions. The year before, he compiled 1,252 yards and 11 touchdowns. Pro Football Focus gave him a first-round grade, crediting that to 17 missed tackles, a drop every 14.4 catchable targets, 38.7 yards on deep ball receptions, 798 yards out of the slot in eight weeks, and 511 yards from out-wide in four games in 2018.

Brown is comparable to the Steelers' JuJu Smith-Schuster as he has the versatility to line up in the slot or out-wide. The Titans need him back by the time real football starts, as he's expected to be the second option for Marcus Mariota, opposite Corey Davis.
