There's a lot of weight on Adrian Peterson's shoulders as the named replacement for Derrick Henry, the clear-cut best running back in the NFL. While his first game with the Tennessee Titans resulted in a resounding win over the Los Angeles Rams, he wasn't entirely effective in his debut.

The new Titans RB admitted that even his immediate family took note of what he could improve on. Peterson shared the conversation he had with his son, who had some pointers for the former NFL MVP.

“He was like, ‘Dad, why were you running so high?'” Peterson told reporters on Friday. “That’s one thing I always preach to him so he was able to preach it to me. I was like, ‘You know what? You’re right.’ So that is one thing I took away from it. I ran extremely high.”

Peterson did record a touchdown for the Titans. But it was just for a single yard, one of just 21 yards on the evening in 10 attempts, good for just 2.1 yards per carry. He finished third in rushing yards for Tennessee despite having the most attempts.

AP may not be as explosive as he was a decade ago, but he's definitely still much better than his Titans debut showed. Hopefully he listens to his son and stays low for their Week 10 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
