Adrian Peterson agreed to join the Tennessee Titans earlier this week. This is Peterson's fifth team in the last five seasons.

The Titans were on the lookout for a free agent running back after Derrick Henry suffered a notable foot injury during the Week 8 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. And now, not only have they signed Peterson but have also made the move to place him on the active roster ahead of their Week 9 road encounter with the Los Angeles Rams.

There was one key factor behind Peterson's decision to join the Titans at this point in the season, which he opened up about during a press conference on Friday.

“I am excited to be here,” Peterson said. “You think of an ideal situation for a running back like me and my style, it would be this right now. So, I am just going to live in the moment, enjoy it, and do whatever they ask me to do.”

It is not yet known on just how involved Peterson will be in the Titans' offensive attack. But in the big picture, the one-time NFL MVP winner is simply focused on doing what he can to contribute to the current AFC South leaders.

“My whole mindset is to let them know, ‘Hey, I am coming in here, I am serious, and I want to do whatever I can to do to contribute and help this team continue to be successful,'” Peterson said.

“If they call my number, I'm going to go out there and contribute any way that I can. I do a great job of keeping my body in shape, physically, mentally, and keeping myself prepared for a moment like this.”

For now, Peterson may go on to share the bulk of the Titans' rush attempts with Jeremy McNichols, who has totaled for 38 rushing yards so far this season.

The Titans will look to extend their winning streak to five games with a road victory over the Rams in Week 9.
