Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker is unlikely to play another game this season after suffering a serious ankle injury during Sunday’s 27-20 loss to the Miami Dolphins, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports.

#Titans TE Delanie Walker suffered a dislocated ankle in today’s loss vs the #Dolphins, I’m told. There was also an associated fracture. His season is almost certainly over, a tough injury for an underrated and productive player.

Walker sustained the injury during the fourth quarter of the Miami game while he was looking to extend a play after a catch.

Walker’s potential loss is going to be a huge one for the Titans, as the veteran tight end has been one of the team’s most productive options downfield.  Since coming over to Tennessee in 2013, Walker has managed to record at least 800 receiving yards in four of the next five seasons. In 2017, he played 16 games and racked up 807 receiving yards to go with three touchdowns.

Prior to his premature exit from the game, Walker recorded 52 yards on four receptions.

With Delanie Walker expected to be sidelined for the foreseeable future, tight ends Jonnu Smith and Luke Stocker are in line to see more snaps going forward.

Aside from Walker, the Titans also saw quarterback Marcus Mariota and offensive tackle Taylor Lewan suffer injuries in the Miami game.

The bang-up Titans will face the Houston Texans at home next Sunday.
