Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker has been ruled out for his team's Week 8 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to an ankle injury, according to Jim Wyatt of the Titans' team website.

Walker initially sustained the injury during Tennessee's win over the Los Angeles Chargers last week.

The veteran says that the injury is related to the one that kept him out for just about all of 2018:

“I am just trying to make sure I get back to normal,” Walker said. “It’s related to the dislocation I had in my ankle. I just banged it up pretty much. Surprisingly I went pretty far without injuring it, so that’s a good sign.”

Walker played five snaps before exiting the Titans' Week 7 victory.

On the season overall, he has logged 21 catches for 215 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

The 35-year-old is now in his seventh season in Tennessee. He joined the club in 2013 and instantly became a key member of the offense, catching 60 passes for 571 yards and six scores during his inaugural campaign.

By 2015, Walker was a Pro Bowler for the first time in his career, courtesy of hauling in 94 receptions for 1,088 yards while reaching the end zone six times.

That represented the first of three straight Pro Bowl appearances for Walker, as he snared 65 balls for 800 yards and seven touchdowns in 2016 and finished with 74 catches for 807 yards and three scores in 2017.

Walker spent the first seven seasons of his career with the San Francisco 49ers.

The Titans are 3-4 on the year.
