The last couple of big games for Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry has put him within reach of the 1,000-yard rushing milestone but that isn't something he is focused on reaching in his last two weeks. Through the first 12 weeks of the season, he had 474 rushing yards and it was looking like a really disappointing season. In the last two weeks, he has rushed for 408 yards and that has put him only 118 yards from reaching the milestone.

“I’m not focused on that,” Henry said Wednesday via Tennessean.com. “I’m focused on us getting this win and us finishing out the week right, going in there prepared and executing the plan. Whatever happens, happens. I’m not really focused on 1,000 yards.

“As long as we play good and we win, I’ll be happy.”

It's been quite the turnaround from the beginning of the season and he is finally starting to look like the bell cow back they were hoping he would be when the season started. If Henry can continue to run like he has the last few weeks he is going to have a real good shot to break it. He is going against a Washington Redskins defense that is giving up an average of 153 yards over the last seven games. Henry also said that this isn't his doing, it's all the guys up front who are creating the holes for him.

“For me to be doing this stuff, you’ve got to look at what’s happening around me,” the third-year running back said. “It’s those guys up front. They’re doing their job, and I’m just finding the holes and hitting them and finishing hard.”
