The Tennessee Titans are set to fight for their playoff hopes in Week 17 against their AFC rivals, the Houston Texans. In a game that doesn't mean nearly as much to Houston as it does to the Titans, Tennessee will need all hands on deck in order to pull off the win. One of the biggest question marks heading into this game for the Titans has been the health and availability of star running back Derrick Henry.

Thankfully, the Titans have received good news and Henry will be on the field this week, as reported by AP News.

Pro Bowl running back Derrick Henry makes it very clear he will play Sunday against the Houston Texans with a playoff berth on the line for the Tennessee Titans.

“I love football,” Henry said Thursday. “I love playing the game, so I’m definitely ready.”

Reports have previously stated that Henry was at practice and aiming to play against the Texans. Henry simply was not going to miss this football game for the Titans.

Henry is one of the top running backs in the game when he is healthy. He is a massive body and is insanely difficult to bring down once he picks up steam. Tennessee needs to have him on the field if they want to beat the Texans.

In the 14 games that he has played this season, Henry has carried the football 271 times for 1,329 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also has 18 receptions for 206 yards and two touchdowns.

All of that being said, it will be interesting to see how the season concludes for the Titans. If they don't make the playoffs, however, at least they have a bright future with Henry and possibly even Ryan Tannehill if he continues throwing the ball the way he has in 2019.
