The Tennessee Titans could be without star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney for this weekend's matchup with the Chicago Bears.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported Clowney did not practice on Thursday due to an apparent knee injury, and his status is looking doubtful for Sunday.

Garafolo also noted Clowney might be forced out of the team's Week 10 matchup with the divisional rival Indianapolis Colts, whom the Titans will face on a short week.

This is a brutal blow for the Titans, who are already reeling from two consecutive losses.

Clowney had yet to produce a sack through his first seven games. But the former No. 1 overall pick was nonetheless one of Tennessee's best rushers up front, and Clowney also had four passes defended in coverage.

The Titans' defense has struggled all year, mostly due to a lack of pressure. Tennessee ranks 30th in the NFL in sacks, with just seven on the season. As a result, opposing quarterbacks have had success against the Titans' secondary.

This bodes well for a Bears offense that has had a hard time moving the ball through the air and is dealing with a plethora of injuries up front.

Nick Foles was sacked five times against the New Orleans Saints last weekend, but still produced his second-best quarterback rating of the year.

It seems likely Matt Nagy and the Bears will throw the ball quite a bit against the Titans, especially if Clowney is indeed forced out with a knee injury.

Tennessee, meanwhile, will have to put up points against a tough Bears defense and hope Clowney's issue is not too serious.
