Although the Tennessee Titans have looked fantastic the last several weeks, things might begin to slow down with Derrick Henry out of the lineup. However, Julio Jones seems to be confident in his replacement, as Tennessee brought in future Hall of Fame running back Adrian Peterson to fill the void.

According to Gentry Estes, Jones isn't expecting Peterson to completely take over the starting role and continue where Henry left off. Instead, he boasts how the Titans now have a solid veteran who can get the job done to keep the run game relevant. Here's what Julio Jones had to say about Adrian Peterson:

At the end of the day, that's all the Titans really need. Although Derrick Henry has been the best running back in the league the last few years, they don't need Adrian Peterson to perform at that level. If Peterson can manage four yards per carry, the offense should be able to work like a well-oiled machine.

Tennessee will have to rely on their passing game more often, but having Adrian Peterson in the backfield as a replacement isn't a bad option. Peterson is known as one of the all-time greats and can do what's necessary to help the Titans win. He'll have some help from Jeremy McNichols and D'Onta Foreman could earn an expanded role in the coming weeks.

Even so, Adrian Peterson seems excited about his opportunity in Tennessee. “I'm excited to be here. You think of an ideal situation as far as a running back like me and my style, it would be this.”

There's no denying that statement. The Titans have been a run-first offense for quite some time now. This is a perfect pairing for Tennessee and Adrian Peterson while Derrick Henry heals his foot. It appears Julio Jones agrees and is excited for what the team can accomplish this season.
