The Tennessee Titans have announced a joint practice with the New England Patriots this offseason. It appears cornerback Logan Ryan is looking forward to squaring off against wide receiver Julian Edelman.

Ryan and Edelman had been teammates in New England during the former's first four seasons in the NFL.

According to ESPN's Turron Davenport, he is excited about the prospect of going against Edelman and his old team:

Logan Ryan says he's excited to go vs. his former team during training camp. Called them the top of the top and said it'll be good to get 1 on 1s vs. Julian Edelman mic'd up.

Ryan's excitement is certainly understandable considering his history with the Patriots. New England was where he had established himself as a viable starter on a Super Bowl-winning team.

Not only does a team of their status provide the highest level of competition there is, but it will also give Ryan a chance to get back at his former team for his unceremonious departure.

The 28-year-old has since become a staple in the Titans defense since his arrival prior to the 2017 NFL season. He finished the 2018 campaign with 76 tackles, eight passes defensed, no interceptions, and a career-high four sacks before suffering a broken fibula in Week 15.

Fortunately, it is clear that he fully intends to participate in all the offseason activities.

Despite Ryan's talent, Edelman is never an ideal matchup for any cornerback. He proved as much with a dominant Super Bowl performance against the Los Angeles Rams.

With tight end Rob Gronkowski gone, it is safe to assume quarterback Tom Brady will rely on Edelman now more than ever.
