Malcolm Butler wasn't able to play a full season with the Tennessee Titans in 2019 due to injury. He is excited to rejoin the team this year. While the Titans have begun training camp, Butler shared his eagerness to contribute to winning again in 2020.

“I missed out on a whole half a season, and I had to sit there and watch my team win,” Butler said, via Jim Wyatt of the team website. “I’m all about winning, but I want to help win, too. I’m just excited to be back.”

Last season, the Titans got off to a slow start with Marcus Mariota under center, going 2-4 in their first six games. However, once they benched Mariota in favor of Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee suddenly became a team to be reckoned with.

The Titans would finish the season with a 9-7 record and would advance to the AFC Championship Round. However, while Tennessee was getting hot and found themselves sneaking into the postseason, Butler was sidelined with a broken wrist.

Before injuring his wrist in Week 9, Butler contributed nine pass breakups, two interceptions, and a touchdown. Amid Butler's absence, the Titans relied upon Adoree Jackson and Logan Ryan at cornerback.

Besides the return of Butler, the Titans added Johnathan Joseph and rookie Kristian Fulton at the cornerback position. At the same time, Ryan is no longer with the team and somehow remains a free agent this late in the offseason.

Butler is accustomed to winning games as he helped the New England Patriots win two Super Bowls in his career. Now, after an injury-marred campaign in 2019, Butler is focused on helping the Titans achieve their goal of a Super Bowl in 2020.
