Tennessee  Titans cornerback Malcolm Butler left for the locker room in the second quarter of their 34-17 loss against the Houston Texans. He was then evaluated for symptoms of concussion afterwards.

A day after getting hurt, the 28 year old has been placed under concussion protocol, as per Paul Kuharsky.

Things did not go right for the Titans in their Monday night game. For some reason, their defense simply could not contain the Texans' scorching offensive attack.

The Titans led 10-0 to start the game, but found themselves trailing for the rest of the game due to a 27-0 run by the Texans.

Texans running back Lamar Miller had a day to remember, shredding the Titans' defense with 162 yards and a touchdown. Deshaun Watson likewise was impressive in the outing with 210 yards on 19 out of 24 passing with two touchdowns.

Butler did not return to the field in the second half, as he was not cleared to play for the remainder of the game.

As of now his current injury is being monitored by the team. Backup cornerback Leshaun Sims will take his place in case he misses Sunday's game against the New York Jets.

Marcus Mariota also suffered a similar injury last week in their 38-10 loss against the Indianapolis Colts, but he was cleared to play before Monday.

Butler was one of the biggest signings of the free agency period. He played his first four seasons with the New England Patriots. There he would enjoy two Super Bowl rings.

Above all, Butler became popular because of the interception that he made at the one yard line that sealed the Patriots' 28-24 Super Bowl win versus the Seattle Seahawks in 2015.
