The Tennessee Titans came within one game of making their second straight playoff appearance this past year, as they ended up losing a winner-take-all game to the Indianapolis Colts in the final week of the regular season.

When you look at the Titans' 2018 campaign as a whole, you can see that they did not really deserve to be a playoff team, as they had a lot of ups and downs as a whole.

Tennessee quarterback Marcus Mariota feels that the club needs to be more consistent in 2019 if it wants to achieve its goals:

“Consistency,” Mariota said when asked what the team needs to improve in 2019, according to the Titans' official team website. “We’ve shown up for games, we’ve played well. We beat some of the better teams in the league, and then we tend to kind of fall asleep. If we can build that consistent — I think it really starts at this time. Whether it’s consistent route running, consistent throwing, consistent tackling — those things can be worked on now. If we are able to do that I think we’ll get to a point where our success can be carried out for the entire year.”

Of course, that means Mariota himself needs to be more consistent.

After putting together a couple of impressive seasons to start his NFL career, Mariota has taken a downward turn over the last two years, throwing 24 touchdowns and 23 interceptions between 2017 and 2018.

To be fair, Mariota has had some injury problems, but he also has to be better when he is actually on the field.
