Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota quarterback suddenly landed on the injury report heading into Week 15. Fortunately, his status for Sunday's matchup versus the New York Giants does not seem to be in jeopardy.

It appears Mariota has been dealing with an abdominal issue. According to Steve Layman of newschannel5.com, he is still expected to play:

Marcus Mariota added to Titans injury report Friday with an abdominal injury. Still expected to play Sunday.

Mariota certainly has not been a stranger to injury in the 2018 NFL season. Although he has largely managed to play through the pain, it has clearly taken its toll on his performance throughout the year. As a result, he has enjoyed a rather modest production up to this point after throwing for just 2,330 yards, 11 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He has still managed to do some damage with his legs by running for 339 yards and two touchdowns on 61 carries. Regardless, it is safe to say he has underwhelmed this season.

Unfortunately, that is not likely to change any time soon after the success they had against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. Running back Derrick Henry enjoyed one of the best rushing performances in recent years. It is safe to assume that Tennessee will look to employ a run-heavy approach moving forward.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding Mariota's status as the franchise quarterback moving forward. Although he has been unable to erase the doubt thus far, he could help solidify his case by leading the Titans to the playoffs for the second year in a row.
