In each of the last two offseasons, Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota had the task of working through a couple of significant leg injuries that derailed a bit of his workout regimen. This had even pushed him to wear a brace since spraining his left MCL in his rookie campaign.

However, he has been able to shed off the brace on the practice field in training camp that has Mariota feeling quite refreshed physically ahead of his fourth season in the league, according to Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.

“It might be a different story when the pads roll on, but for now, yeah, I feel comfortable, I feel good. The whole knee brace, it felt restricting,” Mariota said. “But at the same time, I have to be smart and try to be safe out there. We'll see, I'm not sure. I haven't made that decision yet.”

The ability to ditch the brace on his left will likely give him more mobility in the pocket while playing more freely on the field, but it will come down to operating more wisely with his decision making. Mariota has shown to be a unique talent under center with his ability to make plays with his arm and legs that helped him lead the Titans to a playoff berth and trip to the divisional round of the postseason this past season.

The 24-year-old did experience some regression in his play on the field last season throwing 13 less than touchdowns while committing six more interceptions in the process. However, there is a strong belief within the organization that Mariota can recapture his 2016 form where he threw for a career-high 26 touchdown passes that earned him a spot as a Pro Bowl alternate.

With his body finally feeling comfortable on the field, it could lead to a bounce-back campaign while pushing the Titans to a second straight playoff appearance.
