The Tennessee Titans finally managed to get back into the win column with a 28-14 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night. Starting quarterback Marcus Mariota is optimistic about the team's recent progress.

The Titans' offense showed plenty of promise against a talented Cowboys defense. Mariota feels this unit is starting to turn the corner after a slow start to the 2018 NFL season, via the team's official website:

“I think it was a combination of what we’ve done throughout the season,” Mariota said. “I think we are learning and growing as an offense. That being said we’re all kind of figuring out where those spaces are and who we are sending. Really, it’s when to expect the ball and when to throw it. Again, unbelievable catches on third down a lot of us needing to change. If we can do that consistently, I think we will be alright.”

It is encouraging to see Mariota still has high hopes for this offense. Outings like the one against Dallas certainly help solidify that notion. Tennessee was able to take advantage of the extra week off to help fine-tune some of the things on offense. It undoubtedly paid off after putting up a season-high 28 points against the Cowboys.

More importantly, Mariota has finally started to show signs of what made him a potential franchise quarterback. He was off to a rough start this season, battling injuries while getting accustomed to the new system. However, Monday night's outing shows that he has made some serious strides over the last few weeks. He completed 21-of-29 passes for 240 yards and two touchdowns. He also managed to tack on 32 yards and a touchdown with his legs.

There is no doubt that the Titans still have plenty of work to do. Fortunately, their win shows that they are at least on the right track.
