Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota has a little pressure in the quarterback room with Ryan Tannehill backing him up, but he doesn't seem to mind, and calls what they have going “pretty special.”

Mariota said after Thursday's game that Tannehill has come in and been a great support. For some players, they might feel the pressure of having someone who has played in the league sitting behind him, but he has enjoyed having the extra support.

“Our quarterback room is something pretty special,” said Mariota via the Tennessean. “Ryan does a great job coming in and being a support system. I can’t say enough to have a guy who’s played in this league and have the experience he does means the world to us. He’s been nothing but a help to all of us.”

Tannehill has been accepting of his new role with the Titans, but admitted after the game it was a bit weird coming off the bench.

“It was lot of fun,” said Tannehill, who took over from Mariota midway through the first quarter and spent the rest of the first half carving up the Eagles secondary. “Obviously it’s a change of scenery, but it was fun to compete against another team.”

“It (coming off the bench) was different, obviously. A different feeling going out and not knowing. It’s a change, but you roll with it and try to make the best of every situation.”

Tannehill did look strong on Thursday night, completing 12 of his 16 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns. Right now there has been no talk about Mariota being replaced, but if he were going to go down with an injury the team should be in good hands with Tannehill filling in.
