Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel is not one bit bothered by Ryan Tannehill's comments about mentoring (or not) rookie quarterback Malik Willis.

Tannehill made headlines recently when he said that it is not his job to “mentor” Willis after the Titans drafted the 22-year-old. Besides, they are competing for the same position. However, the veteran QB did acknowledge that the youngster can learn by watching him along the way.

Of course Tannehill caught a lot of flak for it, especially since it has been common practice for veterans to help the up-and-coming players as a passing of torch of sorts.

Vrabel, however, took no issue with the stance. In fact, he seemed to agree with Tannehill as he highlighted that the QB's role is to help them win games.

“His job is to prepare to help us win a bunch of games and and be a great teammate and help out,” Mike Vrabel said, per Associated Press. “And I know that he’s going to do that. So that was not any sort of issue for me.”

For what it's worth, even Malik Willis had no problem with it. He was even able to joke about it on Friday before saying that he and Ryan Tannehill have “chopped it up.”

“It wasn’t ever anything negative. Ryan’s a good a dude, man. He had us over at his house. Everything’s cool, man,” the Titans rookie shared.

It doesn't look like the comments will be an issue as the Titans gear up for the 2022 season. And by the looks of it, Willis is ready to learn from Tannehill in his own way.
