The Tennessee Titans managed to put together an impressive outing in the 2019 NFL season. It appears the efforts of head coach Mike Vrabel has not gone unnoticed by his former teammates.

Former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel took to Twitter to share some heavy praise for Vrabel:

Mike Vrabel I am proud of you brother. We always knew you would be a great coach, leader, and peoples person. Thank for not trying to be like another coach and being yourself. Keep helping those young men become men.

The comments from Samuel are indicative of just how respected Vrabel is as both a player and coach. He and Samuel had won two Super Bowls together during their time with the New England Patriots. It seems the latter got to see firsthand how much his teammate had all the makings of a future NFL coach and was finally able to show off his prowess by leading a turnaround in Tennessee during the 2019 campaign.

Samuel's praise is also interesting in that he may have been taking a light jab at head coach Bill Belichick. Although he initially began his career in New England, he ultimately parted ways after four seasons once his rookie deal was up and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. Perhaps his time with the team did not end on the best of terms.

Regardless, there is no question that Vrabel has managed to make a name for himself outside of being a part of Belichick's coaching tree. He will have an opportunity to show that it was not a fluke in the 2020 NFL season.
