The Tennessee Titans have gone 9-7 for three consecutive seasons. As a result, it seems head coach Mike Vrabel is doing whatever he can to get his team over the hump.

The Titans have been on the cusp of emerging as a legitimate contender over the last several years. According to Erik Bacharach of The Tennessean, Vrabel is hoping his new mantra can set into his team's psyche this offseason:

“We’re going to try to remind ourselves that we’re trying to be great every day,” Titans coach Mike Vrabel told reporters in mid-April about his team’s philosophy this offseason.

Vrabel's approach has already started to have an effect on his players. Wide receiver Adam Humphries admits to making sure he is using the proper wording:

“I think it’s good — or, I think it’s great. Let’s say that,” Humphries said, catching himself with a laugh. “I think it’s great, and each and every day we’re improving.”

While it is encouraging to see that the players are embracing Vrabel's mantra, only time will tell whether or not it comes to fruition. The Titans have done what they can to put together a talented roster through the draft and free agency in recent years. Unfortunately, it has not been enough to secure their status as a contender in the AFC.

Humphries is looking to be part of a potential resurgence on offense going into the 2019 NFL season. He is coming off a bit of a breakout year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after finishing the 2018 campaign with 76 receptions for 816 yards and five touchdowns. Tennessee is hoping he can become a safety net for quarterback Marcus Mariota out of the slot. It is safe to say that expectations are rather high for the Titans moving forward.
