Tennessee Titans wide receiver Rishard Matthews has agreed to a one-year extension with the team through 2019, according to ESPN's Field Yates. The deal is a team option with a base value of $7.75 million for next season.

Yates has more details on bonuses and incentives that are part of the new deal:

Under terms of his new deal, he has $875,000 available in per-game roster bonuses this season and $500,000 in additional incentives added to the $850,000 that were already included in his deal, giving him the chance to earn $1.375M more in 2018 than he was previously scheduled to.

Yates reports that the decision on the team option must be made by the third-to-last day of the 2018 league year. The deal has an option bonus of $3.25 million and a base salary of $4.5 million, with the opportunity to go higher based on this year's performance. There are also more than $1 million in incentives available in 2019 based on receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.

Matthews is currently on the PUP list with an undisclosed injury, so it's unclear just when he'll return to action. He still isn't practicing and has been dealing with this mystery injury since OTAs in May. With Matthews still hurting for now, Corey Davis and Taywan Taylor are in line to be the Titans' top two receivers to start the season.

The 28-year-old Matthews is set to enter his seventh NFL season and third with Tennessee after four with the Miami Dolphins. Matthews' first year with the Titans was a career year in which he caught 65 passes for 945 yards and nine touchdowns. He took a slight step back last season, hauling in 53 passes for 795 yards and four scores.

Matthews is the third significant offensive player to sign an extension with Tennessee since training camp began, with offensive tackle Taylor Lewan and tight end Delanie Walker being the others.
