The Tennessee Titans clinched the AFC South division with their victory over the Miami Dolphins. The performance was especially impressive as Miami had been one of the hottest teams in football. The Dolphins entered the game riding a 7-game winning streak.

Tennessee thoroughly dominated Sunday, beating Miami 34-3. Following the game, Ryan Tannehill spoke to the media and detailed what he said to his teammates after clinching the division. Tennessee Titans senior writer Jim Wyatt shared that message.

“I'm thinking: Try to enjoy the moment and celebrate, but I'm going around telling the guys that we're just getting started… We've got a long way to go and that was kind of my message going around to the guys. Congratulate them but thinking back of my mind, (thinking) we've got a long way to go and we're just getting started. Definitely try to enjoy the moment and celebrate today for what it is, but just knowing in the back of our minds that our ultimate goals aren't done yet. We've still got a long way to go.”

Not only did the Titans clinch the AFC South title, but because the Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday, Tennessee moved into the #1 spot in the AFC standings. They are both 11-5 on the season, but the Titans beat the Chiefs earlier in the year.

Tennessee can clinch the overall #1 seed and first round bye with a win next week over the Houston Texans. The Titans lost to the Texans a couple of weeks ago, so Mike Vrabel will probably have his team ready to go next week.

No team would like to have that first round bye more than Tennessee. It's been reported that Titans running back Derrick Henry might be able to return in the divisional round.
