The Tennessee Titans got walloped, 34-17, by the Indianapolis Colts at home on Thursday, and QB Ryan Tannehill says he feels “sick” about it.

The night started promisingly enough for the Titans, beginning with a 67-yard touchdown drive followed by an empty Colts possession. But, after A.J. Brown dropped a pass from Tannehill on the ensuing drive that could have put the Titans up by two scores, things devolved  for Mike Vrabel's squad.

The Colts scored on five of their next six possessions, while the Titans special teams served up a series of errors: a shanked punt, a blocked punt for a touchdown, then a missed field goal.

When he wasn't handing the ball to Derrick Henry, Tannehill struggled, too. The Titans were held to 294 total yards and failed to convert a big play in the second half as the game got increasingly out of hand.

“When you're down three scores at the end, obviously it's a sick feeling, and not one I want to have again,” Tannehill said afterwards, via the Washington Post.

Tannehill completed 15-of-27 passes for 147 yards and an early TD — an average of just 5.4 yards per completion.

“We simply have to start playing better, plain and simple,” Tannehill said. “We're just inconsistent. We've done some good things. The defense has done some good things. We're just not consistent enough as a team playing complementary football, playing off of each other. We're just not making enough plays. So we're going to have to clean that up, really get healthy over this little extended week we have here, clear our minds and our heads and come back ready to go on Monday because we can't wait around any longer.”

The loss dropped the Titans to 6-3 after starting the season 5-0. The Colts moved to 6-3, too, but hold the tiebreaker in the NFC South. Tennessee will face the Baltimore Ravens next Sunday, followed by a rematch with Indianapolis in Week 12.
