On Sunday, the Titans received a massive boost to their offensive line: Tennessee moved left tackle Taylor Lewan to the 53-man roster, the team announced.

Lewan, a three-time Pro Bowler, served a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy. To make room, the Titans moved running back David Fluellen to the injured reserve.

The NFL placed Lewan on the commissioner's exempt list to serve his suspension. The left tackle practiced with the Titans all week and is expected to start on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills at home.

“It's been tough to be away, obviously,” said Lewan on Friday, “you want to be able to compete and be with the boys and everything. But, now that I'm back, it's totally focus on the Buffalo Bills and Week 5.”

Lewan wasn't able to practice with the Titans while suspended, so he went down the road to Vanderbilt University to train. He noted that Vanderbilt's strength and conditioning coach James Dobson put him through the wringer in the conditioning arena.

The Titans offensive line struggled without their perennial Pro Bowl left tackle in-place. They allowed 17 sacks without Lewan, good for fifth in the NFL; nine of which came against the Jacksonville Jaguars on “Thursday Night Football.”

With Lewan back in, the Titans will have their full offensive line for the Bills on Sunday. Expected to start is (left to right): Taylor Lewan, Rodger Saffold, Ben Jones, Kevin Pamphile and Jack Conklin. Considering the Bills boast one of the NFL's stingiest and most physical pass-rushes, Lewan's re-arrival is right on time.
