The Tennessee Titans continue to work around their training camp pool to finalize their 53-man roster heading into the upcoming season. The team recently dropped the hammer on veteran quarterback Trevor Siemian and was released into the free-agent market.

NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo disclosed the Titans' roster move on Twitter:

The sixth-year player was signed on a one-year deal during the offseason and was supposed to fill in as a backup to starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The move came after Marcus Mariota recently departed to the Las Vegas Raiders. Siemian was already a journeyman in the league and bounced off several teams prior to his stint with the Titans.

He began his career in 2015 as a quarterback deeply buried on the Denver Broncos' depth chart. He then started for the team after both Peyton Manning and backup Brock Osweiler left the team after winning the Super Bowl 50. A shoulder injury sustained in Week 15 of the 2017 season ultimately led to his release from the team.

During the 2018 offseason, he was traded to the Minnesota Vikings along with a 2018 seventh-round draft pick in exchange for a 2019 fifth-round draft pick. He never saw action on the field as a backup for quarterback Kirk Cousins in the 2018 season.

On March 20, 2019, Siemian signed a one year, $2 million deal with the New York Jets. He only played in a single game on Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns when quarterback Sam Darnold was ruled out indefinitely with mononucleosis. Sustained torn ligaments in his ankle during the game prematurely ended his tenure with Gang Green.

He also tried out for the Detroit Lions during the offseason prior to landing on the Tennessee Titans. It looks like he is on the move again and it remains to be seen if we will get to see him on the gridiron once more in the future.
