The Tennessee Titans held a workout for Stephen Gostkowski nearly a week ago and it appears the team liked what they saw. According to the team's official site, the Titans have signed Gostkowski in hopes he can aid them in the kicking department.

Gostkowski began the 2019 season as the starting kicker for the New England Patriots for the 14th consecutive season. However, the veteran kicker suffered a hip injury that would require season-ending surgery early in the year.

Even though Gostkowski was hopeful to return, the Patriots released Gostkowski earlier this offseason. Ever since then, the all-time scoring leader in New England's franchise history has been searching for a new team.

Despite not knowing where he will play in 2020, Gostkowski settled down in a home in Tennessee. He is a Memphis alumn and seems to be a fan of living in Tennessee. Now, after inking a deal with the Titans, he won't have to travel far to his new team.

Last season, the Titans had a revolving door at the kicker position. Altogether, Tennessee had Ryan Succop, Cody Parkey, Cairo Santos, and Greg Joseph all take kicks for them in 2019. What's even worse is that all of their kickers combined to make just eight of their 18 field-goal tries. The team's eight field goals were the lowest mark in the NFL.

Heading into the 2020 season, the Titans are hopeful that Gostkowski will solve the team's kicking woes. In a corresponding move to make room for Gostkowski, Tennessee released Joseph, giving the two-time All-Pro a clear-cut chance to get the starting job.
