It looks like Derrick Henry will be re-signing with the Tennessee Titans.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Titans plan on bringing back Henry at a “big number,” which does not come as much of a surprise.

Henry is coming off of a breakout 2019-20 campaign in which he racked up 1,540 yards and 16 touchdowns while averaging 5.1 yards per carry, leading the NFL in both of the former categories. He made his first Pro Bowl appearance as a result.

The 26-year-old was also a monster in the playoffs, rattling off 446 yards and a couple of scores while logging 5.4 yards per attempt in four games, helping Tennessee make it all the way to the AFC Championship Game.

Henry, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was originally selected by the Titans in the second round (45th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He played in 15 games during his rookie season, finishing with 490 yards and five touchdowns on the ground, recording 4.5 yards per attempt. The following year, Henry did not show much progression, totaling 744 yards and five scores as a rusher while posting 4.2 yards per tote.
