Julian Edelman has been one of the most consistent wide receivers in the NFL for some time now, but you rarely hear his name mentioned among the league's elite.

As a matter of fact, there are some who don't even consider Edelman a top-25 wide receiver, and Tom Brady thinks that is wrong, to say the least:

“He does a lot of things a lot of other players in the NFL can’t do,” Brady said on WEEI's The Greg Hill Show on Monday morning. He’s just a spectacular player. That is definitely kind of a bogus vote in my view. He is a spectacular player, one of the greats in the NFL, no doubt.”

Edelman has logged 38 catches for 449 yards and a couple of touchdowns through six games this season.

“For me, he’s a spectacular player and he will be in the Patriot Hall of Fame, and he could be a Pro Football Hall of Famer too at some point,” said Brady. “What he’s done and what he’s accomplished over the course of his career is nothing short of spectacular. He’s a great teammate. He does all the dirty work, not just his spectacular performances, his ability to run routes, catch the ball, run after catch, but blocking, blocking for other guys.”

Edelman was originally drafted by the New England Patriots back in 2009 and has been a Patriot ever since.

He did not become an integral part of the offense until 2013 when he hauled in 105 receptions for 1,056 yards and six touchdowns, but since then, he has been Brady's favorite target in the passing game and has been a key piece in three Pats Super Bowl victories.

New England has gotten off to a 6-0 start this year.
