A lot of NBA players in the league today have different hobbies and interests outside of basketball. From fashion, to other sports, these are just some of the things they have passion for as well. For Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns, it’s his love for cars, which keeps him busy when away from the court.

Tom Thibodeau even said recently that he is so into vehicles that he even carries a magazine about it to practice. He even joked about the difficulty of having him do the defensive stance because he is very much preoccupied with his other interest.

In his first two seasons in the NBA, Towns has shown that he is prioritizing basketball and has shown further improvement in his skill set this past season. After being named the unanimous Rookie of the Year winner in 2016, he followed it up with another stellar campaign with impressive averages of 25.1 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 blocks per game.

Now with Jimmy Butler on their team, he could serve as the veteran mentor to the Timberwolves, and help their young core become more mature. His arrival also boosts their chances of making it to the playoffs next season, and more importantly, could be the player who can call out his teammates, including Towns, should their focus be away from winning.
