With the 2021 NFL schedule having been released, there are many intriguing matchups to anticipate. The schedule is full of enticing quarterback matchups that will be battles between the leagues best. There are still many months to go before we kick off the season but fans can start getting excited for these games now.
Following an unprecedented season where we saw teams battle in a season that will be unlike any other, it will be back to normal this season. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expects full stadiums this season and it should bring more excitement back to the NFL. In the 2020-21 season Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came out on top as they defeated Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

10. Week 4: Jacksonville Jaguars at Cincinnati Bengals
While you may be thinking this game is not enticing at all, it will feature the last two number one overall picks. Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow are both supremely talented and are the future stars of the NFL. This will be the first duel of many between the two future stars.
9. Week 10: Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers
The Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers have had so many great battles over the years. With two future hall of famers Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers going at each other, it is always a great game. Wilson sent Rodgers home in the playoffs back in 2014 in the NFC Championship Game. Rodgers returned the favor years later when he knocked them out in the 2020 NFC Divisional Playoff Game. This is set up to be a great matchup between the two NFL superstars.
8. Week 1: Dallas Cowboys at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The opening game of the NFL season will be between the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Dallas Cowboys. This game will definitely get a lot of attention as it features Tom Brady against Dak Prescott and America’s Team. Prescott missed most of the 2020 season after suffering an injury but his return to action could take the Cowboys back to contention. Brady will be looking to lead the Buccaneers on another Super Bowl run. This game between the Cowboys and Buccaneers is set up to be an opening night shoot out with the high powered offenses.
7. Week 1: Cleveland Browns at Kansas City Chiefs
An AFC Divisional Playoff Game rematch in Week 1 between the Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs should be a good one. With Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes going up against former number one overall pick Baker Mayfield it is bound to be a shoot out game. Both teams have improved their defenses but both offenses possess a ton of firepower. This game will give the fans a good gauge of what to expect from both teams this NFL season.
6. Week 12: Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens
Another very enticing matchup to look forward to is this one. We saw what it could produce last season. A back and forth NFL game between the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens occurred this past season with the Ravens narrowly coming out on top 47-42. Both of these teams were in the playoffs this past season but lost in the divisional round. When Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield play it is always an intense matchup and this year should be no different.
5. Week 5: Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs
The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs have a rematch of the AFC Championship Game in Week 5. This matchup features two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. Both have had so much success early in their career and will continue to improve. These teams could be seen often over the next decade with the superstar quarterbacks they have. Look for this game to be a playoff type atmosphere.
4. Week 2: Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens
This Kansas City Chiefs – Baltimore Ravens game will be highly anticipated as it features two NFL MVP quarterbacks. Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson have both accomplished so much in their careers and are just getting started. In a potential playoff preview the game will feature high intensity and effort. Jackson has yet to beat Mahomes and the Chiefs and but will have an opportunity to do it in week 2.
3. Week 4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New England Patriots
Tom Brady’s return to New England is an NFL game you won’t want to miss. Whether it’s Cam Newton or Mac Jones playing it will be a great game. It will be the first time we see head coach Bill Belichick scheme something against Brady. This may be a matchup we remember for years.
2. Week 14: Buffalo Bills at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
This NFL game between the Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers features an up and coming star Josh Allen against the greatest to ever do it Tom Brady. Both teams will get a real test of what the playoffs could be like as they both had deep runs last year. A potential Super Bowl matchup is brewing here and it will be a great game featuring two different style quarterbacks.
