The 2020 NFL season is fast approaching. With the season and fantasy football drafts both just around the corner, it's time to look at the possible fantasy football quarterback sleepers for this season.

These guys are those that will overproduce for you relative to where you can get them in the draft. If you're looking for good value later on in the draft as either a backup or if you're one of those guys that draft your quarterback later on in the draft, these are some guys to keep an eye on.

Who will be this year's Lamar Jackson? Let's get right to the top five fantasy football quarterback sleepers.

Fantasy Football Sleepers

5. Teddy Bridgewater

Teddy Bridgewater, Panthers

Will a new home mean a renewed career for Bridgewater? As long as he is able to get used to being a full-time starter again and the team around him can help him out, the answer will be yes. The Carolina Panthers also gave him some added support with the pickup of Robby Anderson, which shores up the wide receiver corp.

And of course, there is Christian McCaffery in the backfield, which will take a lot of pressure off of Bridgewater as he acclimates himself to the new offense. What will also help is that the Panthers were already used to having a dual-threat quarterback, so they do not have to adjust the playbook much for the seventh-year pro.

4. Philip Rivers

Another quarterback who has to learn a new system, Rivers is now with the Indianapolis Colts. He has some weapons around him in Indianapolis, most notably T.Y. Hilton.

In spite of his age, as long as Rivers can learn the offense he can have a good season with the Colts and be a serviceable mid-draft pickup for any fantasy owner.

3. Jimmy Garoppolo

His name is Jimmy Garoppolo! The man who led the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2012, where they lost to the Baltimore Ravens, Garoppolo looks to get the 49ers back there and win this time for the first time since 1994.

Garoppolo will be out on a mission both due to losing in the Super Bowl and to show critics that he was not carried to the big game. With George Kittle locked down with a long-term contract and Tavon Austin signing with San Francisco, Garoppolo has the weapons around him to have a very good season. What's his name again?

2. Jared Goff

Rams, Jared Goff

Another NFC West quarterback who feels he has something to prove, Goff is looking to show that 2018 wasn't just a fluke and 2019 was an outlier. He's also looking to show the naysayers that he is worth the $134 million he was given by the Los Angeles Rams prior to the 2019 season, in which the team went 9-7 but missed the playoffs due to being in a very strong NFC West.

Last year's performance caused some to consider him overrated and overpaid, and Goff is bound and determined to prove those people wrong.

1. Cam Newton

Cam Newton, Patriots

It's crazy to see a player who was the top quarterback in fantasy just a few years ago on a list like this but here we are. If Cam Newton can have a good season, it will be one of the biggest comebacks in NFL history. While he won't win Comeback Player of the Year this season no matter how good he plays (that honor has to go to Alex Smith even if he doesn't take a single snap) he will still be heralded as one of the best stories in the NFL if he can have a good season this year, and I think he can.

As long as Newton can stay healthy he will have a strong 2020 season after being named the New England Patriots' Week 1 starter.

Not only is he on a team that can help him out immensely through the system they run and the winning mentality, but he will always be coming out swinging. Newton will have a chip on his shoulder this season after being cut by the Panthers in March. With all of those things combined look for Newton to have a strong showing, perhaps even breaking into the top 10 in fantasy quarterbacks if things go right.

There you have it, the five quarterback sleepers to look at for the 2020 fantasy football season. Who will be the one to break out? Will any of these guys have a year like Lamar Jackson had in 2019?

Good luck to everyone in their drafts and fantasy football seasons.
