Tottenham is trying to do everything imaginable to keep Harry Kane in North London, but they know there is still the possibility that he leaves the club. With that in mind, new Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo and chairman Daniel Levy are eyeing potential replacements for their English striker.

A player that has crept onto their radar at Euro 2020 has been Swiss hitman Haris Seferovic, according to the Sun UK. Tottenham was very impressed with the Benfica man, who netted three times in the tournament before Switzerland crashed out in the quarterfinals against Spain in penalties.

Seferovic enjoyed a fantastic season in Portugal's top flight, bagging 26 goals across all competitions. His current deal with Benfica is believed to have a £50 million release clause, but Tottenham believes they could sign the former Frankfurt attacker for half that amount.

While Kane has voiced his desire to compete for trophies elsewhere, he did leave a reason for optimism after talking about the hiring of Santo as the new boss in North London, via TalkSport:

“I’m away with England now and my full focus is on here. Hopefully, we’ve got a week left.

“He’s a great manager and did a great job at Wolves and got them playing a really good way.

“Let’s get back and I’m sure we’ll be in contact after the tournament.”

Nevertheless, Levy and the Tottenham board are making sure they have options if Kane does indeed depart. Seferovic has the necessary attributes to succeed in the Premier League, especially since he's a big, physical striker. It's definitely a name to keep an eye on as the transfer window rolls on.
