As Tottenham is focusing on resolving the current uncertain future of Harry Kane, club officials have been looking to bolster the team with one potential key move.

As of late, Tottenham has ramped up its efforts to haul in Villarreal center-back Pau Torres. Even as Tottenham has already revamped its center-back depth with the loan signing of Cristian Romero coupled with the multitude of other such talents on its depth chart, Spurs are still adamant about bringing in the promising La Liga talent.

As noted by the Spanish-based outlet El Larguero, Tottenham club officials placed a €50 million offer on the table to the reigning Europa League champions for Torres.

Villarreal was well open to pushing forth with sending Torres to Spurs. However, the Spanish defender is not interested in a move to the Premier League side.

Torres prefers to feature in the UEFA Champions League with the Yellow Submarine this season. The La Liga side clinched a spot in this season's Champions League group stage after winning the Europa League competition earlier this year.

The Spanish national team defender has also garnered transfer interest from Real Madrid as of late, although it is not known whether Los Blancos still have an aim at signing him before the ongoing summer transfer window closes.

The homegrown Villarreal talent raised his stock over the past year. He posted multiple formidable performances for Villarreal over its Europa League-winning run. More so, he continued to catch the attention of club officials in the continent after representing Spain in Euro 2020 and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Torres is well among the most coveted defenders in the sport today. If he remains with Villarreal, many powerhouse clubs in Europe may once again show an interest in signing him over the next couple of transfer windows.
