The MLB trade deadline is nearing its end, and now the Minnesota Twins have finally– after weeks of deliberation– traded away starting pitcher Jose Berrios. According to Mark Feinsand and Ken Rosenthal, Berrios is headed to the Toronto Blue Jays.

This was a move just waiting to happen, and Berrios was the second most-coveted pitcher on the market besides Max Scherzer. Now the Twins send him away and further dig down into their rebuild.
On the year, Berrios has compiled a 7-5 record with a 3.48 ERA in 20 games for the Twins. The best part about the deal is the fact that he is a controllable asset and won't hit the open market until after the 2022 season.
The return for the Twins is a massive haul for essentially a year and a half of Berrios' services.
SS/CF Austin Martin and RHP Simeon Woods-Richardson are headed back to the Twins for Jose Berrios, sources tell ESPN. Wow. That is a massive haul for a year and a half of Berrios.

The MLB trade deadline has seen a ton of movement and Berrios is now headed to Toronto where he will immediately be put to work as they aim to make some noise in the American League East.
Kris Bryant and Craig Kimbrel are still out there, Trevor Story is also still available, and clearly the AL East as a whole– besides the Baltimore Orioles– are doing whatever it takes to make the playoffs this season.
