Imane “Pokimane” Anys shocked fans with her announcement regarding a $5 donation cap for her channel. The incredibly successful Twitch streamer and YouTuber took to Twitter, to inform her fans of the new donation setup for her channel moving forward.

Pokimane expressed her gratitude towards her loyal viewers and fans in the short announcement tweet. She further stated that the new cap was put in place as she deemed grander donations to be unnecessary at this point. Pokimane urged her more generous patrons to direct their money and support towards budding channels and charities. This channel update was spurred with Pokimane reaching a point where she was successful enough to forego larger Twitch donations.
The announcement received mixed responses from her fans and fellow streamers. Gab Smolders, another prominent Twitch streamer, shared her own mechanism for handling donations on her own stream. Smolders also suggested that Pokimane could have donation links available on her channel.

Holly Wolf, another streamer, expressed her admiration towards Pokimane’s decision to restrict her own channel donations. Wolf also drew attention to the many other streamers which would benefit greatly from support and donations.

Pokimane currently has over six million followers on her main Twitch channel and a combined number of around seven million subscribers on her numerous YouTube channels. This grand gesture is the streamer’s way of appreciating the support she gets from all of her fans.
Twitch and YouTube Pokimane viewers will now have the option to show their support for channels and charities that need it most.
