The Derek Fisher hire as head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks is turning heads. The former Los Angeles Laker had one failed stint as head coach of the New York Knicks. Not to mention, he came under fire as head coach of the Knicks due to a scandal involving former teammate, Matt Barnes' estranged wife.

It's no surprise that many fans and media on NBA Twitter are reacting to the news. Some are happy that Fisher is receiving a second chance to prove himself as a coach. Others are wondering why he is even worthy of a second chance after his tenure with the Knicks. And others — mainly Knicks fans — are wondering whether or not Derek Fisher will run Phil Jackson's beloved triangle offense. Spoiler alert: he won't.

Love him or hate him, the Sparks definitely made a splash by hiring the controversial Derek Fisher. The five-time NBA champion has had a ton of success in Staples Center over the years. Perhaps the Sparks believe that Fisher can right the ship after the team flamed out in the second round of the playoffs.

Regardless of how you feel about Derek Fisher, there's no doubt that he brings some intrigue to the bench for Los Angeles. His reputation surrounding women are clearly concerning to many, but apparently not the Sparks.
