Coming off as a surprise to many, the Twitter universe eventually garnered a mixed bag of reactions from fans who responded to the emerging trade situation between the two teams. Many have expressed their disappointment for the Thunder who are potentially letting go of a productive contributor in Schroder and are not getting the right value in exchange for him ahead of their campaign next season.

Despite the opposition, the Purple and Gold faithful are ecstatic as they are getting a seasoned veteran in return for a rookie who will most likely be stuck on the tail-end of their stacked roster.

A handful of fans also turned into defacto basketball analysts and voiced their sentiments regarding the implications of the trade for both teams.
Huge pickup for Lakers, likely included Danny and Kuz to make salaries match, but he’s everything the Lakers needed an offensive playmaker who can shoot, get to the rim and pass, also a really good defender!

Good for both imo. I feel Schröder is heavily underrated. And OKC just gets another good pick for their bright future.

Great deal for the Lakers, you basically get Schroder (a really good player) for a pick you don't need. OKC meanwhile can continue to build for the future.

Apart from the Lakers' interest, Schroder has been making rounds in the offseason after emerging as an integral piece for the Thunder which exceeded expectations last season. Dennis Schroder averaged norms of 18.9 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.6 rebounds through 65 games played for the Oklahoma City-based squad
The Thunder eventually concluded the regular season with a 44-28 record to nab the fifth spot in the stacked Western Conference. The team's promising playoff run was stopped on its tracks as the team succumbed to the Houston Rockets in seven games.
After an impressive showing, former head coach Billy Donovan unexpectedly parted ways with the organization and packed his bags to Chicago. A couple of months later, Dennis Schroder could be the next piece on the move and it remains to be seen if he will indeed land in Los Angeles to help the Lakers in their bid for a second-straight title.
