For the first time in their NBA careers, former Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem will not be playing together anymore this coming season. Wade decided to play for his hometown team, the Chicago Bulls while Haslem recently signed an extension this summer to remain in South Beach.

The reality of not having his teammate of 13 years still has not sunk in yet for him, but at the start of the Heat's training camp in the Bahamas, the 36-year-old will get to feel and see it first hand.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, the 6-foot-8 forward talked about the strange feeling of not having Wade on the team and how they have complimented each other in the past years:

“It's going to be strange, it's going to be strange, and it probably won't hit until the first day when camp really starts.”

“We've prepared ourselves for this moment, everything that has led up to this point, that we've done together, that we've accomplished together, has prepared us to be successful with or without each other.”

“He's strengthened my weaknesses, and I've strengthened his weaknesses. We're prepared as leaders to lead our different teams into a new era and be successful.”

The two will be playing similar roles for their respective teams as locker room leaders and providing a veteran presence now that they are both reaching the back-end of their careers. Though Wade is known as the better scorer, their impact to their teams are still almost the same. Together they have won three championships for the Heat and are one of the duos that played the most games together in NBA history.

Their fans don't need to wait long to see them both in action and competing against each other as the Heat are slated to host the Bulls at the American Airlines Arena on Nov. 10 when D-Wade is expected to receive a huge ovation from the South Beach faithful.
