Francis Ngannou and his former coach, Fernand Lopez, have been going back and forth for a long time. Most of it comes from Lopez as he has been firing shots at the UFC champion.

Recently, Francis Ngannou revealed that he was warned ahead of time about Fernand Lopez. In an interview with the UFC, the heavyweight champion admits a psychiatrist warned him three years prior.

“I won’t say I’m surprised knowing the person,” Ngannou said, speaking with Megan Olivi. “I always knew that something like this might come from him. I was in Paris three years ago after the Derrick Lewis fight and I was dealing with some personal stuff on my end. I was so in a bad place that I decided to see a psychiatry. And if you look at the psychiatry notes, it’s funny because even three years ago, she pointed out Fernand as a problem to watch out [for].

“I thought she was crazy, and she started to break it down and put it on the note. But now I think she was all right.”

The situation has gotten very ugly since then with the UFC champion and his former coach. Things are going to be solved soon when Francis Ngannou defends his title against Ciryl Gane.

UFC 270 goes down on January 22 with Francis Ngannou headlining the event. The co-main event sees Brandon Moreno defending the flyweight title in a trilogy bout. The card features many exciting bouts to help round off a very exciting event.
