A few weeks after the highly-anticipated bantamweight title bout between Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan, the two UFC fighters have taken their rivalry to Twitter. The fight ended disappointingly after Petr Yan delivered an extremely illegal knee to Sterling's head. The fight was close and it's unknown how the fight would have gone had it continued.

Since then, Yan has received criticism for apparently not knowing the UFC rule book. Aljamain Sterling poked fun at Yan and his camp through Twitter. Sterling's original tweet:

As you could guess, Yan didn't think the tweet was funny at all. Instead, he sent back insults to Sterling, saying, “Just be grateful cowardly b****.” The argument continued, with fans getting involved offering their inputs as well.

No outside opinions really matter on the situation, as Yan was clearly in the wrong during the fight. It was one of the most illegal knees thrown in UFC history that turned into a disqualification loss for Yan. However, the guy acts like he did nothing wrong whatsoever, which is ultimately confusing for everyone involved.

However, it seems Sterling is looking forward to a rematch with Petr Yan, as Sterling doesn't feel like he technically earned the belt. Yan may have run out of ideas to continue the argument here, as it's impossible to believe Sterling is playing the victim card at all.

It's unknown as to when the rematch will take place. We're likely months away from seeing these two in the Octagon again until the back end of the year. However, this is a rematch the UFC world is looking forward to, as the original fight was thrilling until the illegal knee.

Keep close attention to these two, as the rivalry has turned from competitive to bad blood rather quickly.
