Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is now spicing things up ahead of his apparent grappling match against Jake Hager.

Jon Jones is looking to redeem himself in the sporting world following his recent run-ins with law and he appears to be on the right track. The ex-UFC superstar had just confirmed his new partnership with Jackson Wink MMA Academy and has followed it up with another shocking confirmation.

According to Jones, he is set to take on unbeaten Bellator fighter and AEW's Jake Hager in a grappling match organized by Fury Grappling on “December 9th.”

“Breaking News!! I’m excited to announce I’ll be competing for the number one grappling organization in the world, Fury Grappling! December 9th I’ll be in New Jersey competing against WWE superstar and undefeated Bellator heavyweight Jack Swagger,” Jones wrote on Twitter.

It didn't take long for Hager to make a response and immediately shot down Jones' announcement, insisting that no “contract” has been signed yet.

First of all it’s @AEWonTNTand undefeated @BellatorMMA heavyweight Jake Hager, secondly no terms have been discussed or contract signed. We can talk if the terms are right,” Hager captioned on his reply to Jones’ tweet.

As expected, “Bones” fired back and belittled Hager for being unable to reach 1 million followers on Twitter.

“Come on people let’s get Jake to 1 million followers, sorry I didn’t know who you were. Lol,” Jones replied to Hager via BJPenn.com.

Should the said grappling match comes to fruition, this will be Jones' first fight since beating Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 in February of 2020.
