Looking at the odds, pick, and prediction for the main event of UFC Vegas 57 between Arman Tsarukyan and Mateusz Gamrot.
The main event of UFC Vegas 57 may not feature good name value but the fight itself is an excellent one. Both men are currently ranked in the top 15 of the UFC's lightweight division and they're on excellent win streaks. A spot in the top 10 is on the line in this one and the winner could finally get the recognition they deserve from the more casual fans. The fight has all the makings of an exciting main event with both men capable of finding finishes and in the prime of their fighting careers. Don't let the lack of name value stop you from watching this one, these men are high-level fighters and have very exciting styles. It won't be long before both of them are in the top 10 and potentially in the hunt for the lightweight title.
Arman Tsarukyan had a tough UFC debut with the promotion choosing to match him up with Islam Makhachev. He's had five fights since then and all have resulted in wins for the Armenian fighter. Those five fights are nothing to scoff at either, with a good mix of excellent veterans and prospects. Tsarukyan is primarily a grappler but his style has evolved since debuting in the UFC back in 2019. His improvements are easily noticeable considering his last two losses have been impressive TKOs over Christos Giagos and Joel Álvarez. He has a big opportunity to score the biggest win of his career and prove he should be fighting the top 10 at lightweight.
Mateusz Gamrot may seem like a rising prospect in the UFC but the Polish fighter has been competing in big promotions since 2013. He became a star in his home country by competing at the top European promotion KSW. He's faced tough UFC veterans like Andre Winner and Norman Parke and never lost before signing for the UFC. He lost a very close fight to Guram Kutateladze in his debut for the promotion back in 2020. Since then, he's had three fights with all of them stoppage wins. His last two have been particularly impressive with a TKO over Carlos Diego Ferreira, due to injury, and a submission over the hard-to-finish Jeremy Stephens. This is his first fight in 2022 and he'll be looking to prove he belongs at the top of the division, fighting big-name veterans.

How Arman Tsarukyan Wins The Fight At UFC Vegas 57
Wrestling is going to play a big part in Arman Tsarukyan's path to victory in this fight. Mateusz Gamrot struggled against Guram Kutateladze because he can shut down the grappling and land good counters. That can play right into Tsarukyan's game as he's an excellent grappler and his striking is quickly evolving. The finish is going to be tough to get and winning the early rounds is going to be very important in order for Tsarukyan to walk away the winner. Gamrot will be susceptible to kicks and Tsarukyan will have to utilize those in order to control the fight. That being said, Gamrot gets better the longer the fight goes which means Tsarukyan will have to make sure he doesn't drop any of the early rounds as that could make things dicey on the scorecards for him. Using the kicks, shutting down the offense grappling of Gamrot, utilizing counter shots, and mixing in the offensive grappling will lead to victory for the Armenian lightweight. Tsarukyan wins a tough decision.
How Mateusz Gamrot Wins The Fight At UFC Vegas 57
Mateusz Gamrot is going to be the one who truly benefits from the five rounds. The Polish fighter gets better the longer the fight goes and that's going to benefit him against an opponent that has never gone the full five rounds. Gamrot will be looking to work off of the jab and look to mix in the calf kicks to limit Arman Tsarukyan's movement and control of the cage. This one is most likely going to have to take place on the feet in order for Gamrot to get the win in this one. Gamrot's going to have to use his movement and land counters of his own in order to find success. The finish isn't likely so stealing a round early and winning the last two rounds is the most likely path to victory for Gamrot.
Final Arman Tsarukyan-Mateusz Gamrot Prediction & Pick
As tough as it is to predict this fight, there are two factors that are going to determine the winner in the main event of UFC Vegas 57. The wrestling and the counter striking. Both men are excellent wrestlers but whoever controls the grappling is going to have the most success. Mateusz Gamrot's jab and calf kicks are going to play a big factor in controlling things on the feet and disrupting Arman Tsarukyan's rhythm. Ultimately, it seems Tsarukyan has the right tools to beat Gamrot and make things tough for him. He's comfortable everywhere on the ground and he has excellent takedown defense. He'll slow down in the later rounds but it's expected that he'll be able to take the first three. There really is no safe pick in this fight with both men having plenty of skill and the right tools to give each other trouble. The pick is Tsarukyan by decision.
Final Arman Tsarukyan-Mateusz Gamrot Pick: Arman Tsarukyan wins by decision.
